After playing bass guitar in various bands like SOOM and Wastewell I became increasingly interested in electronic music, algorithmic composition and sound design. I record, collect sounds and program my own instruments for composition and live performance. In my field recordings and old records I am looking for beautiful little details that will come to life in a new sound world.
I use the cinematic and dramatic qualities of my music when working with theatre makers, choreographers, filmmakers and visual artists and have composed music for ensembles, television and designed new media/installation work. I performed twice at the Oerol Festival and was involved with the successful Grand Theatre productions “Graan” en “Het Paradijs. I have worked with, amongst others, choreographers Kenzo Kusuda, Martin Butler, Jack Gallagher, Michelle Kurzenacker, Ivana Muller, Maria Ines Villasmil, José Navas and Paul de Bruyne / Guangdong Modern Dance Company from China. I have performed in Holland, Germany, United States and Venezuela.
I studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag and I was a guest programmer for the electro-acoustic Kraakgeluiden sessions in Amsterdam in the spring of 2005. I have participated in workshops at STEIM, Dogtroep and with Han Bennink and Mary Oliver/Magpie Dance Music Company. In 2005 I performed in Venezuela with Ties Mellema from the Amstel Saxophone Quartet, and in New York with choreographer Luis Lara Malvacias. Gia Kourlas of the New York Times described the work with Malvacias as “meticulously put together and utterly endearing.” In august 2006 I presented the installation “Memory Scan” at the Noorderzon Festival in Groningen, together with Miriam Reeders. November 7th I was the special guest at the “Electrons and Phonons” event in Austin, Texas, organised by the New Music Coop where I presented a composition for ensemble and laptop. I composed the music for “There Is No Such Thing”, the new piece of Luis Lara Malvacias which premiered November 28th in Dance Theatre Workshop in New York. A US tour of my music project Wrikken took place in December 2006. From March to May 2007 I am working in Guangzhou, China with the Guangdong Modern Dance Company.

北京新音乐运动NO BEIJING的发起人，CAR SICK CARS乐队的主音和吉他，中国新音乐时代的里的中坚份子和代表人物，最具潜力的先锋吉他创造者，2005年组建White No.1，一个7人的大乐队，这是一支向Glenn Branca致敬的多人乐队。
随后组建White 2J，演奏合成器与采样。2006年的2月，他飞往纽约参加了先锋作曲家Glenn Branca的第13吉他交响录音。2006年和沈静组建了White。06-07年参与了一系列即兴演奏的演出。
Shou Wang is a founder member of the Chinese new music movement, “No Beijing”, and is the guitarist / vocalist for Beijing noise band Carsick Cars. He is at the very heart of the new generation of Chinese avant-garde musicians, this year flying to New York to take part in Glenn Branca’s famous recording for 100 guitarists.
In 2005 he formed White No.1, a septet that paid tribute to the early work of Glenn Branca, and White 2J, in which he played keyboards. Finally this year he and Shenggy formed White.

Justin Padro
Justin Padro is a percussionist from Brooklyn, New York City. Before coming to China, Padro spent his time performing in various Jazz, experimental, afro-latino and rock groups. His most recent credits include a massive horn, drum and theatrical outdoor ensemble, The Himalayas, directed by master drummer Kenny Wollesson (John Zorn, Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Bill Frissell), well-known for their regular appearances in the New York City Village Halloween Parade and a trio called the Stumblebum Brass Band, a literally underground (NYC subway system) busking ensemble consisting of a tuba, trumpet, and snare drum. In addition to performing, Padro also DJed jazz, new music, funk, blues, and latin programs on NYC radio staion WKCR 89.9fm. He is currently a regular at Beijings own D22, performing with his trio (featuring members of the Red Hand Jazz Band), duets with guitarist Shou Wong Zhang (of White and Car-sick Cars), and, most recently, with American guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Elliot Sharp. Justin loves mashed potatoes and gravy and would very much like to find some.

The avant experimental duo 10 is Marqido from Japan who is a laptop noise artist, and itta from Korea who plays real voice, toys, and miniature traditional instruments of some nations. Simple and many of layers, noise and lyrical music, electronic and acoustic music.
10’s ‘one’ and ‘zero’ cannot meet. but they can include each other.
10’s music started from that irony. 10 started from the relationships of irony.
and, 10 can make ironic sound. Their very names are ironic in that itta is the Korean word for ‘exist(1)’
while for Marqido, ‘Maru’ means ‘eternity’ and ‘zero(0)’, qi means ‘deight’ and ‘do’ means ‘angry’.

前卫实验双人团体10的成员是来自日本的笔记本电脑噪音音乐人Marqido，以及来自韩国以人声玩具与各种不同国家的传统乐器表演的itta。他们的音乐简单但多层次，噪音但是又有旋律性，包含电子与声音音乐元素。
10的“1”与 “0”无法相遇但是却包含彼此。
10的音乐出发点是嘲讽的，10始於嘲讽的关系。10可以创作讽刺的声音。
甚至是10的成员名字也很讽刺：韩国的itta在韩文的意思是“存在（1）”，Marqido的’Maru’指的是“永恒”以及“零（0）”，’qi’指的是“欢愉”，’do’指的是“生气”。

Kwanyin is name of a popular buddha in China. kwan(guan1) means view, observe, watch, etc. yin(yin1) means music, sound, sonic existence, information, etc.
since June of 2005, Waterland Kwanyin is the first open plate for experimental, improvised musicians/artists who live or transiently in Beijing. as the idea from KwanYin Records, it offers opportunities for artists from different background who now (or in the future) be into free music, e.g. abstract and spiritual sound, field recording mix, noise, electroacoustic, as well visual art, body performance, etc.
