在北京的，去看Waldchengarten和Ryfylke是一件很秋天的事情。很美很深。除了水陆观音，还有周四的D22和周六的南门。我不知道怎么劝大家去看演出，不过并不是所有的艺人，都会安排在这3个场地演出的。

Within the last 7 years, the brothers Lars and Dennis Hansen from Aarhus have made a remarkable career in a curious and somewhat unintelligible scene. Releases such as “Six Silver Bullets”, “Was Kommunikation?” and “… In Preparation of Machines to Fall” were received with great interest by the media and audiences around the world, while in Denmark word was spread of the noise duo’s very alternative music. Never before has a radical exponent of electronic music reached such a big audience in Denmark. Among some it was an ‘über-refined’ trademark to wear as a badge - a name with ‘umlaut’ and a taste of avant-garde, radiating the provocative curiosity of the individual in a dehumanising age of machinery. Among others it signalled a prophetic drone of electronic possibilities capable of pushing the limits for many listeners.
The basic mood is elegiac and disturbing, but the exposed alienation is also perceived with a curious wonder. It is like moving in a cabinet of mirrors where darkness suddenly falls. Here the senses are hit by a typhoon of charged electricity, and it is definitely not a display of human power. It is as if the music transcends its own will through ethereal radiation and abandoned factory buildings. It is hard to comprehend how people can devise such a brutal form of aesthetics. therefore it is also hard to imagine how this music has been made. The guitar and other apparent noise sources, which were predominant on Waldchengarten’s early recordings, are no longer recognizable to the ear in their recent works. At certain points in the music one notices jacks summing magnetically in contact with the plug, but otherwise the corroding soundscapes display themselves
as monsters of electricity overtaking each others prolonged blowing in the pipes of the purgatory organ. The sound image presents itself as an inseparable unity in which myriads of parallel sequences are constantly undergoing transformations.
Waldchengarten’s debut album, “Was Kommunikation?”, released as a 10′ at the end of 2000, was followed up by “Six Silver Bullets” 7′ shortly before their first european tour in the fall of 2001. The 7′ was meant as a tour only release and hopefully sold out when home again, but due to common misfortune and the general state of the world late 2001, the package was delayed and the records never available on the tour. The full-lenght release “…In preparation of machines to fall” was released in 2002, which led to the bands first work on Verato Project: the “BeautyBoxer” 3′ CD released in 2003. Things were moving in a new direction for the band in 2004, which first became evident on the mp3-single “Uncomfotable Positions” released by (now defunct)Fukk God! Let’s create, but didn’t unfold entirely until the release of “Electrical Bonding” in 2005. Latest release was “Reservatet” on Verato Project 2006 and so far 2 releases has been scheduled for 2006:

Ryfylke

Ryfylke
Ryfylke consisting of Sten Ove Toft and Stian Skagen stands out as some of the most interesting and sofisticated sound artists in Norway today. After their internationaly honored debut album “Boknafjord” (2004), the duo has performed heavily around in Norway and in February/March 2005 they finished their first european tour with exclusively positive feedback all over the continent.
Ryfylke’s interesting soundscpages is made up from the duos different approach in dealing with sound. On the one side Toft is working with field-recordings of objects and other analog “found sound” that he carefully processes in his digital environment. These sounds are then put into an ocean of drones building it up to a maelstrom of brutal swings and layers of sonic walls. Skagen works with digital feedback, raw data files and numeric codes. This material is shattered into cascades of pulses sparkling multiplicity of atonal glitches.
From their digital and analog environment, a complex soundscape of drones, glitches and detailed noise opens a dreamlike atmosphese. Seducing the audience, taking them on a disturbing tour through subtle extures that explodes in digital crackling and electric outbursts. A Ryfylke performance is a physical experience where the listener is challanged to experiene a room in constant movement.

kwanyin is name of a popular buddha in china, kwan(guan2) means view, observe, watch, etc. yin(yin1) means music, sound, sonic existence, information, etc.
it’s the first open plate for experimental, improvised musicians/artists who live or transiently in beijing. as the idea from kwanyin records, it offers opportunities for artists from different background who now (or in the future) be into free music, i.e. abstract and spiritual sound, field recording mix, noise, as well visual art, body performance, etc.
also combined with film screenning, lecture, workshop and special party.
