Wei Zen, on vocals and electronic sampler, brings together a fusion of South East Asian music with a twist of contemporary jazz. She also incorporates movement and shadow-work (depending on the venue), thus evoking a sense of ritual and theatre around her performance.
Wei Zen’s material combines a deep interest in breaking down boundaries through the beauty of song, dance and theatre. She integrates contemporary methods and technologies in her music and performance, whilst maintaining respect and sensitivity to tradition. The messages underlying her artistic enterprise reflects much of her spiritual practice, which is about attenuating the ego ie owning the ego and being flexible with it. It looks to use all activities, including the artistic process to take responsibility for our emotions and actions. Wei Zen teaches a form of Shaolin martial arts whose lineage comes from Bali called Pancha Tanmantra (Sanskrit for Five Vibrational Elements). She is also a Shiatsu practitioner.

1994年 在洛阳组建“黒色星期五”乐队任吉他手
1996年 来北京参加“NO”乐队任吉他手，同年考入中国音乐学院学习古筝
1997年底 组建“病医生”乐队，任主唱和吉他手
1999年 参加“苍蝇”乐队任吉他手
2000年 由京文发表“病医生”乐队专辑《夜上浓妆》，之后开始制作电子音乐
2001年5月 组建“FM3”乐队，成为中国最早的电音乐队之一
2000年 虎子成为时装秀现场DJ，多次为LV、ARMANI等国际著名品牌制作现场音乐，为四百多场秀制作音乐
2002年3月 赴德国参加Maerz Musik音乐节
2002年4月 组建虎子与赵亮AV多媒体实验小组，开创AV多媒体中国先河
2002年7月 签约摩登天空Badhead唱片公司
2002年7月 录制完首张个人专辑《叛客》在Badhead旗下发表

1999年在上海成立个人工作室-小珂舞蹈工作室
2005年作为主要人员，创办“组合嬲”上海第一个后现代舞团，建团一年多，多次在上海、北京、南京策划演出各类剧场、户外及艺术空间作品。并受欧洲各艺术节邀请，作为上海唯一现代舞组织参加荷兰阿姆斯特丹七月舞蹈节、瑞士苏黎世国际戏剧艺术节及巴黎新凯旋门中国当代艺术展等多项国际交流活动。荣获苏黎世国际戏剧艺术节 2006唯一最高奖ZKB Award.
2006年与音乐人虎子合作推出《触听》作品，在上海、北京多次演出后，得到不俗反响。
关于触听：这是电子音乐家虎子和舞蹈家小珂的一个音乐和舞蹈互动的新组合，用身体感知音乐，用音乐触发身体，一台电脑，两个身体，两个光点，一块地毯，开始触听。

每周二晚上，免费入场，室内演出，室外赋闲。

kwanyin is name of a popular buddha in china, kwan(guan2) means view, observe, watch, etc. yin(yin1) means music, sound, sonic existence, information, etc.
it’s the first open plate for experimental, improvised musicians/artists who live or transiently in beijing. as the idea from kwanyin records, it offers opportunities for artists from different background who now (or in the future) be into free music, i.e. abstract and spiritual sound, field recording mix, noise, as well visual art, body performance, etc.
also combined with film screenning, lecture, workshop and special party.
